National Branding                There are many ways a country could express themselves to the world and how they want to be viewed. One way a nation shares their views and identity is by participating in international events that will give a country the platform to perform in front a large group of people.   Eurovision is an event where many countries participate in and use this opportunity to share their national identity to its viewers. However, you should not confuse national identity as nation branding. Whereas, national identity is an idea where there is a common heritage within a group from culture, traditions, language, government, and religion as stated in blog post one. Moldova Eurovision Representations               The Eurovision singing competition that many European countries participate in hopes of winning the competition. Overall, the competition is a way for many different European countries to come together and share their experiences through music. Especially the smaller nations who do not have a big presence in Europe. Moldova’s participation from 2015 through 2017, had different artistic styles from each other as the artist had different personalities.                For instance, in the 2015 performance, Moldovan representative, Eduard Romanyuta, sang “I Want Your Love” in the semi-finals, which had mixed reactions from this performance, “This is a fun, sexy presentation that, due to these very facts, will delight some and alienate others” (Vatmanidis 2015). Moldova                Many people have different ideas on what national identity means. How I define national identity are the quality or trait that a country has that defines who they are as a country. Such as, culture, language, government, and religion affect the identity of a nation. Moldova is a small country that is cradled between Romania and Ukraine. Stuck between these two nations influenced Moldova where aspects of Romanian and Ukrainian culture were incorporated into Moldovan culture. For instance, the government of Moldova recognized Romanian to be their official language in their nation (   Roudik 2013 ). As this may seem as a no brainer for many Moldovans as their own language, Moldovan, which is basically the same as Romanian.
